PBWA Scholarship Committee members: Marilyn Braithwaite; Susan Dudics Dean; Christina Lundberg, Amber Ridings; her Mother, Mary Ridings; and Rie Wilson.
Amber Ridings was awarded the first Monia Christo/Professional Business Women’s Association (PBWA) scholarship at the group’s regular meeting in August at The Purple Iris. Ridings is a 2010 graduate of Musselman High School, and plans to attend Bethany College this fall, majoring in forensic accounting.
The Professional Business Woman’s Association developed the scholarship and named it in memory of deceased PBWA members including Monia Christo, Pamela Owens, Louise Yauger, Joan Snipes, and Jeri Ridenour.
Ridings impressed the Scholarship Committee with her wide range of community activities, grade point average and essay.
Professional Business Women’s Association began in 1994 to provide professionals, business owners and aspiring business women with a monthly networking event. PBWA meets the first Wednesday of each month at The Purple Iris for lunch. More information is available at: www.pbwa.org.
