PBWA is comprised of professionals, business owners, and aspiring business women from the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and nearby Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Now in our twentieth year, the PBWA works to support and foster within our membership the development of long lasting relationships, leadership, and community service.
The Professional Business Women’s Association has succeeded since 1994 thanks to many women who have volunteered their time and talents. In 1994, 13 women came together to form this group. Since then, over 100 women have volunteered and served to continue the successful growth of this worthwhile association. Our primary community service project is to help deserving young women by awarding scholarships each year.
Early 2017 we became a 501(c)(3) organization – this enables us to do more for both our members and our community.

In addition to our monthly business and networking meetings held the first Wednesday of each month, we also host special events throughout the year. These events include topics that are important to both ourselves as business owners and executives as well as the community we work and live in.
The PBWA is governed by a group of five elected board members who serve 2-year terms. They are responsible for supervising and directing the affairs of PBWA, including pursuing the purposes and objectives of the organization, adopting rules and regulations for conducting PBWA business, and dispersing funds. In addition, we have PBWA committees which are made up of our members.
